Wonderland Run 2017

March 4, 2017

We’re proud to say that 2017 will be the 3rd year we have supported the Wonderland Run. Organised by Matt Bell and Rohan Day of Two Bays (and formerly Roller Coaster Run) fame, this rugged Trail Run set in the spectacular Grampians National Park is a must-do event on the Victorian calendar. With 8km, 20.5km and 37km events, there is a distance for runners of all abilities.

While the organisation is exceptional, there are two things that really separate Wonderland from other events. Firstly, the volunteers are truly appreciated and looked after like part of the family. Because of this these legends imbue the race with a strong sense of community that’s impossible to fake, no matter how good your course is, how tough the hills are or how many runners line up.

Secondly, the Grampians landscape is unique and incredibly immersive. Less than 1km from the start line you’re running up a canyon, surrounded by steep rock walls, native vegetation and a trickling stream. The feeling of being “in” the landscape continues as you climb up through Silent Street toward the Pinnacle and onward toward Sundial and (in the long course) the remote Mt Rosea. Yet, despite this feeling of isolation and wilderness in reality you’re never very far from Halls Gap and the great food, coffee and beer the little town has to offer.

As in previous years, a variety of VFuel gels and drink will be available out on course for participants, and for sale at special Wonderland rates both before and during the event.

Registrations are now open at: www.wonderlandrun.com.au
